"Sliced Cone"
"Sliced Cone"
Ronald Davis, "Sliced Cone," ca. 1990. Thermal wax print on paper. 9 x 12 inches. Includes simple 9 x 12-inch black painted frame with glass and hanging hardware. One of a kind art piece.
This is a retro, vintage-technology art print in good condition. The color is rich with a velvety look. The inks are not archival but the prints are over 30 years old and have held their color saturation. If kept out of bright sunlight, these prints can last another 30 years or more.
Before color printers became household items, Ronald Davis experimented with early thermal wax color printers to produce colorful original renderings designed and created with VIDI Presenter Pro 3D software on Macintosh computers. Ron has been an innovator in computer-generated art since the late 1970s, and continues today to work with cutting edge 3D software.
