Collection: Retro Thermal Wax Prints by Ronald Davis
Before color printers became ubiquitous household items, Ronald Davis experimented with early thermal wax color printers to produce colorful original renderings designed and created with VIDI Presenter Pro 3D software on Macintosh computers. Davis has been an innovator in computer-generated art since the late 1970s, and continues today to work with cutting edge 3D software.
The thermal wax prints available here were created in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The inks are not archival, but the existing prints are over 30 years old and have held their color saturation. If kept out of direct, bright light, they could last another 30 years or more.
